"My first contact with this wast and beautiful land was 33 years ago from 10km above ground, from the plane. It was a glorious August morning, with the sun rising from the east, shadows mixing with earthy colours, streaks of dry river beads meandering in all directions…It happened in the same way a few times after that but I never had a chance to actually experience outback on foot. Over last 20 years while living in Pyrmont, (next to Sydney CBD) I was often wandering about life here thousand years ago. Sydney region is the land of Eora nation, Pyrmont particularly of Cadigal people. I would like to acknowledge them as Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live today, and pay my respects to their Elders past and present. This painting is my vision and my personal connection to the past here"
